Director of Business Development – Federal

Summary
Following a $75m Series C funding raise, this company are looking to expand their sales team with a Director of Federal Services. This brand-new role is vital to the company’s vision as they look to strengthen their federal presence. Reporting directly to the VP of Business Development and Channel Partnerships, you will be directly responsible for managing projects from the ground-up.
With this leading HealthTech company, their platform targets patient access optimization, streamlining care delivery whilst enhancing operational efficiency. You will act as an advisor, manage client relationships and drive strategic growth whilst leveraging their FEDRAMP certification.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of projects, from initial identification and proof-of-concept (POC) stages to successful execution, while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and execute a federal government sales strategy, focusing on net new business opportunities within key client accounts, including the VA, Defense Health Agency, and CDC
- Take ownership of all aspects of federal business development, including pipeline building, proposal development, and contract negotiations
- Build and manage relationships with federal primes and other organizations with established contractual relationships with the government to identify partnership opportunities
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support channel and direct federal sales efforts, ensuring seamless project delivery and client satisfaction
Requirements
- Previous success managing relationships within specific federal offices, such as VA, Defense Health Agency, or CDC, with an ability to leverage existing networks.
- Demonstrated ability to build projects from the ground up, including identifying opportunities, managing POCs, and collaborating with leadership teams to deliver measurable results.
- Direct experience with government contracting, including working with contractual vehicles and primes
- Deep understanding of channel and direct federal sales, with experience engaging with primes to lead contract mechanisms.
- Expertise in FedRAMP compliance; experience successfully guiding an organization through the FedRAMP certification process is a strong plus.
- Previous success managing relationships within specific federal offices, such as VA, Defense Health Agency, or CDC, with an ability to leverage existing networks.
