What You’ll Do

• Build and own full-stack features across a modern financial planning platform, spanning backend services and React-based front-end applications.
• Identify, propose, and implement architectural improvements, evaluating new technologies and frameworks where appropriate.
• Design data models and workflows that support financial planning, advisor-client collaboration, and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Proactively address technical debt and drive engineering best practices that promote long-term system health.
• Partner closely with advisors, product teams, and stakeholders to translate complex workflows into scalable software solutions.
• Identify security concerns during code reviews and collaborate with security teams on remediation efforts.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools and libraries, balancing innovation with security, privacy, and maintainability requirements.
• Own services end-to-end, including design, deployment, monitoring, operational support, and incident response.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to cross-team technical decisions, and help raise the bar on engineering quality.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive alignment and execution on key initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong full-stack development expertise.
• Hands-on production experience with Rails, React, Python, and TypeScript.
• Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar platforms).
• Proven ownership of production services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, on-call responsibilities, and incident management.
• Track record of delivering features from ambiguous requirements through production deployment.
• Solid understanding of application security best practices and experience identifying security risks during code reviews.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams.
• Comfortable working with highly sensitive data and building secure, responsible systems.
