Director, Pricing & Strategy
Storm3
⚡ Director, Pricing & Commercial Strategy – Specialty Care
🌍 United States, Remote
💲 $170,000–$210,000 base salary + equity
The Company:
Storm3’s client is a healthcare technology business helping employers manage the cost and complexity of specialty care. The company is growing its commercial operation and needs a senior pricing leader who can turn dense healthcare economics into a clear, defensible value story.
The Role:
There is a common gap in healthcare pricing roles: the analysis may be sound, but it does not always translate into something a customer, partner, or commercial team can confidently use.
You will own the economic models behind the company’s pricing and value proposition, looking at acquisition costs, purchasing routes, distribution terms, manufacturer economics, and the financial impact for customers. The work needs to hold up under scrutiny, but it also needs to be understood by people who do not spend their day inside a spreadsheet.
That balance matters here. Storm3’s client does not need someone who only reports on existing performance or maintains a model built by somebody else. The expectation is that you will create the analytical framework, challenge assumptions, keep the underlying data current, and help shape how the business approaches commercial negotiations and partnerships.
You will work across commercial leadership, pharmacy and distribution partners, and customer-facing teams. Some of the conversations will involve competing priorities, so being technically correct is only part of the job. You need to explain trade-offs clearly and defend the commercial position without hiding behind the analysis.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience across pharmaceutical market access, specialty pharmacy, distribution, trade, PBM, employer health plans, or specialty care operations
- Strong working knowledge of specialty drug pricing and acquisition economics
- Hands-on experience building commercial, pricing, or value models rather than only managing external analysts
- Track record of assessing trade-offs across acquisition cost, manufacturer value, and customer savings
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, with SQL experience viewed positively
- Ability to build benchmark-driven analysis, business reviews, and customer-facing value materials
- Strong written and visual communication skills for commercial and partner audiences
- Experience operating across multiple external stakeholder groups
- Graduate-level training in pharmacy, business, economics, public health, or a related discipline is useful but not required
Responsibilities:
- Build and own the models used to evaluate pricing, purchasing routes, distribution arrangements, and customer savings
- Connect commercial decisions to measurable financial outcomes for customers
- Stress-test changes in manufacturer, pharmacy, network, and distribution economics
- Maintain models covering rebates, chargebacks, pricing leakage, and related financial impacts
- Bring market and competitive intelligence into pricing and channel strategy
- Translate complex analysis into clear materials for commercial negotiations and partner discussions
- Develop reusable benchmarks, reporting tools, business reviews, and forecasting packages
- Support the business case for new partnerships, customer opportunities, and contract renewals
- Work with senior commercial leaders ahead of external meetings and present analysis when needed
- Audit existing data sources and establish a consistent, defensible analytical infrastructure
Benefits:
- Base salary of $170,000–$210,000
- Equity
- Fully remote working arrangement within the United States
