    Storm3

Founding Software Engineer (Full Stack, TypeScript)

New York City (Hybrid) | $130K–$200K Base + Significant Equity

Storm3 is partnering with a venture-backed healthcare technology startup that is building the intelligence layer for healthcare decision-making.

Having recently raised Seed Money, the company is tackling one of healthcare’s biggest challenges: transforming fragmented, unstructured healthcare data into actionable insights that improve outcomes and drive better business decisions. They’re looking for an ambitious Founding Software Engineer who wants to join early, ship quickly, and help shape both the product and engineering culture from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-funded startup at an inflection point, working directly alongside founders and key stakeholders while owning critical technical initiatives.

    The Opportunity

As a Founding Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building core product functionality and helping define the technical foundation of the company. You’ll have broad ownership across the stack, touching everything from backend architecture and frontend development to data pipelines, infrastructure, analytics, and AI-powered workflows.

The ideal candidate is a startup-minded builder who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys solving difficult data problems, and wants meaningful ownership over both product and technical direction.

    What You’ll Do

    • Develop, test, and deploy production-ready features from day one.
    • Build across the full stack using modern TypeScript technologies.
    • Work on backend services, frontend applications, infrastructure, analytics, and third-party integrations.
    • Design and maintain data models and pipelines that transform complex healthcare datasets into actionable insights.
    • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
    • Own problems end-to-end, from discovery through deployment and iteration.
    • Collaborate directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
    • Influence product strategy, user experience, engineering processes, and company culture as an early employee.
    • Leverage modern AI coding tools and workflows to maximize engineering productivity.

    What We’re Looking For

    Required

    • 2+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
    • Strong experience with:
      • TypeScript
      • React
      • Node.js
    • Backend-leaning engineering background.
    • Experience building and shipping production applications.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
    • Authorized to work in the United States.
    • Ability to work onsite in a hybrid environment (4 days per week in Union Square, NYC).

    Preferred

    • Previous experience at a venture-backed startup, ideally pre-Series B.
    • Healthcare, fintech, or highly regulated industry experience.
    • Experience working with complex or unstructured datasets.
    • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code.
    • Experience with LLMs, AI tooling, and cloud-based data pipelines.
    • Heavy user of modern engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and AI-assisted development workflows.

    Why Join?

    • Help build a category-defining healthcare technology company from an early stage.
    • Significant ownership and autonomy.
    • Direct access to company leadership and key strategic decisions.
    • Opportunity to shape engineering culture and technical direction.
    • Fast-moving environment with minimal bureaucracy.
    • Mission-driven work that has tangible real-world impact.
    • Meaningful equity alongside a competitive cash compensation package.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Base Salary: $130,000 – $200,000
      • Mid-level, Senior, and exceptional Principal-level candidates will be considered.
    • Competitive equity package.
    • Fully covered health insurance.
    • Additional healthcare stipend (ICHRA) for dental, copays, and related expenses.

  • 401(k).
  • Flexible PTO (encouraged minimum of 15 days annually).
  • Lunch provided Monday–Thursday in office.
  • Commuter benefits.
  • New equipment and home-office/workstation stipend.

Interview Process

  1. Head of Engineering Interview (30 minutes)
  2. Founder / CEO Interview (30 minutes)
  3. Technical Discussion & Practical Engineering Conversation (60 minutes)
  4. Optional Onsite Visit & Team Lunch (~2 hours)

If you’re excited about building products from zero-to-one, thrive in startup environments, and want to help reinvent how healthcare organizations leverage data, we’d love to connect.
